Carolyn Fitzpatrick

Board Secretary

Carolyn Fitzpatrick has been involved with YOCVA since 2011, when her daughter joined the Flute Choir. Mary Fitzpatrick went on to the Evans Orchestra, Flute Ensemble and served as Principal Flute in the Youth Symphony for two years. Carolyn has been able to see the progression of her daughter through all aspects of the YOCVA program and how this program accented her school music program, and helped her take her musical skills to college and beyond. A graduate of the Mary Baldwin Arts in Teaching program, Carolyn has been in the Education and Visitor Services department with the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello. She instituted and coordinated the music program for the Holiday Season at Monticello with YOCVA students and then other groups in the community. Carolyn is also on the board of the League of Women Voters, Regent of the Jack Jouett Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and serves as a volunteer at the Albemarle/Charlottesville Historical Society. Carolyn supports her local musical community here in Charlottesville and encourages others too as well!
