Rehearsal Day & Time: Mondays from 6:15 – 7:30pm
Location: Charlottesville High School, Choir Classroom
Program Start: September 11, 2023
Program End: Monday, May 22, 2023
Description: Serves as YOCVA’s preparatory string orchestra. It develops beginning strings players and prepares them for future membership in the Evans Orchestra and Youth Symphony. No audition required.

The Winter session begins Monday, November 27th, 2023. Prospective students can try free of charge for 1 week. The final deadline to register and pay tuition is Thursday, December 7th, 2023.
Entry Requirements
There is no audition required to join Junior Strings.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Members of this group should be able to play in major and minor finger patterns, use a full bow with slurring abilities, and read music. This usually translates to being at the beginning of Suzuki Book 2.
